Completely raw and recorded on a camcorder with a overhead flashlight as the sole source of light, MusicLoad had the priviledge of shooting the video below of this gifted up and coming songwriter as she sat on the edge of a bed in a dark room.   Enjoy!
A MusicLoad associate met Paula in line at a juice bar in Venice Beach. It was reported she looked like a rock star without looking like she was trying.  After a brief conversation it was determined she was indeed a singer/songwriter, photographer and talented sketcher and drawer of her own Picasoesque art which she is always working on, as she is her music.

She offered up a listen to some recordings that had been recorded directly to the Apple iPod. Whilst the sonic quality of the recordings left much to be desired, is was apparent that Paula Ferraro had that magic thing MusicLoad likes to call "it" and MusicLoad mustered up a Joe Meek VC1Q microphone pre-amplifier along with a large diaphragm recording microphone for her to try.  She grasped the concept, got her own gear and has gone on to record what is now a rather large body of well crafted songs and recordings.  You can most certainly say you heard her here at MusicLoad.Com first.

As a family affair with his daughter Savannah as vocalist, and his son Karma cookin' on the drums, Brian Auger's Oblivion Express is always at work.  For those who don't know of Brian Auger, he is a Hammond B3 Organ legend who has played with too many major artists to even mention going back to the early days of Jimi Hendrix, Creme and his own self made career that has lasted decades.  These days, Brian and his twentys or thirty something kids family travels around the world each year.  soon, they will perform at the California Monterey Jazz Festival  and then do many dates in Germany throughout the month of October.   Enjoy this video below that was shot at the legendary jazz venue known as The Baked Potato.

Glyn Parry Writing His Next Song
It's like bliss to hear a new song and suddenly drift off, forgetting the days reality, if even for just a few bars.  Glyn Parry did just that and more when we first heard him croon on one of his myspace pages, which is why we call him multifarious.  He has different MySpace pages for different projects that fit the broadness of his musical background.  On his MySpace page that features more soul oriented music is our favorite song entitled Runaway.  It's a beautiful song that might make you heart wrenchingly flash back to homeless souls or runaways you may see in your travels or in your own neighborhood.   With lines such as "surrounded by, a tearful sky, no hope of love from passers by",  Glyn Parry lays it down in the vein of early Boy George Culture Club B sides, with hints of Kenny Loggins meets Michael Mc Donald.  He has this beautiful vibrato reminiscent of Aaron Neville.  However, Glyn Parry delivers up his own identifiable vocal sound and is in no way copying or emulating.  On his my space page is a quote that sums really seems to sum him up: "It doesn't have to be perfect. Just needs a soul!".   MusicLoad.Com would like to say Glyn Parry has that "it" thing in the soul department.  MusicLoad recommends major artists tap into Glyn for a hit song and more.  If you are a music fan, just enjoy his songs while he is still unknown.   We are pleased to have found this fine needle in the haystack.

On March 29 2004, MusicLoad's photographer shot this photo based on a rumor that Sara Bareilles had "it".  She was a hard working food server at the time and was so low key about her music,  never hyping herself. Few knew of her talent, which is one of those things that sets her apart from the rest.  A year after that photo moment passed, Sara was presented with and signed a major label recording contract with Epic Records, a division of SonyBMG.   Recently Sara's album entitled Little Voice became the biggest selling album on itunes.com itunes.com upon release.

A soulful balladeer and a funky girl, she has a definite straight jazz vibe mixed in.  Sara B is obviously diverse and a real true musician that is not out riding a trend or a fad. Part of what makes her special is her minimalist and stripped bare naked sound.  No overplaying or overly emphasized soul shows her purity.  She's soothing at the lowest volume settings and awesome cranked up high.

The first time we had the privilege of seeing Hope Shorter was a moment when we knew this girl was truly gifted and had that thing MusicLoad calls "it".  She was performing her song entitled  "The Rain Don't Last Forever" in a street performance on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California.  She was unsigned at the time.  On a street filled with wanna be stars and people who generally keep walking, a crowd had formed around Hope and her brother who played bass.  The crowd, mostly with their heads bowed and eyes closed all listened with intensity.  That one song had that spine tingling impact that leaves listeners with tears in their eyes and spines still tingling.  One just knows....... "Hit".

This photo was shot by MusicLoad a few days later at a packed house at Temple Bar in Santa Monica, California just weeks before Hope was signed to a major label recording contract with Atlantic Records, original home to many of the greatest musical stars of all time.  Hope has remained practically underground as she is formulating her next recordings.  We know that her day will come when she will be a household name around the world.  Until then........
